We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Remote Area First Aid Trainer to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you’ll play a vital part in empowering individuals and communities with the life-saving knowledge and practical skills they need to navigate the unexpected in the in outback and rural Australia.
Our vision is to equip rural Australians with the confidence and skills to act in an emergency situation. We do this by partnering with those who live and work in rural and remote areas to get the best outcome for the organisation and their people.
This role is a on a casual employment basis. We are looking for instructors who can work a minimum of 2 week blocks or more.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Deliver engaging and high-quality training programs covering remote responder skills, Remote Area first and safety protocols for challenging outback and agricultural environments.
- Train individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds, ensuring they’re confident and prepared to handle medical emergencies, environmental hazards, and other challenges.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure trainee proficiency and program effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities and participant performance.
- Provide ongoing support and consultation to trainees, building a community of empowered and resilient individuals.
What you bring to the table:
- Proven experience as a wilderness guide, paramedic, emergency medical technician, or in a related field.
- TAE40116 or TAE50122 Trainer and Assessor Qualification (mandatory)
- Strong instructional skills with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences.
- In-depth knowledge of remote responder skills, wilderness medicine, and survival techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and trust with trainees.
- A passion for safety and a commitment to empowering others through education and training.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience working in remote and isolated environments.
- Certifications in wilderness first aid, survival skills, or related fields.
- A knack for storytelling and making complex topics relatable.
