Leader supporting their team to reach full potential

Are you a leader who wants to truly support your team and unlock their full potential?

Every day, you and your team face challenges. Sometimes, what looks like poor performance, a lack of focus, or even disengagement might be a sign of something deeper. You care about your people, but knowing how to help when someone is struggling with their mental well-being can feel overwhelming. You might worry about saying the wrong thing, overstepping boundaries, or simply not knowing where to turn. This uncertainty can lead to missed opportunities to provide crucial support, impacting both the individual and your team’s overall productivity and morale.

Imagine a workplace where you feel confident in recognising the signs that a colleague might be facing a mental health challenge. What if you had practical strategies to approach these sensitive situations with empathy and guide them towards the professional help they need?

That’s why we’ve developed the Recognise, Respond, Refer: Mental Health Awareness Workshop for Leaders. This isn’t about becoming a mental health expert; it’s about equipping you with the essential awareness and skills to make a real difference in the lives of your team members.

Here's how our workshop empowers you

  • Recognise: We’ll delve into common mental health challenges like anxiety problems (exploring how they might manifest in the workplace, from excessive worry to physical symptoms), depression (understanding the difference between a bad day and persistent low mood and loss of interest), suicidal behaviours (learning to identify potential warning signs and the importance of immediate action), and addictive behaviours, including substance misuse and the growing impact of social media issues on well-being and focus. We’ll help you move beyond surface-level observations and consider underlying factors.
  • Respond: You’ll gain practical, non-confrontational strategies for initiating supportive conversations. We’ll focus on active listening, empathy, and creating a safe space for your colleagues to share. You’ll learn how to approach sensitive topics with confidence and care, avoiding language that could be stigmatizing or unhelpful.
  • Refer: This crucial step ensures your colleagues get the professional support they need. We’ll provide clear guidance on workplace policies and external resources, empowering you to confidently direct individuals to appropriate mental health professionals and support services.

This 4-hour program is specifically designed for field staff and managers in leadership roles. We understand your time is valuable, so this is a focused and practical discussion-based program. It’s not about diagnosis or treatment; it’s about fostering a more supportive and understanding workplace culture where everyone feels seen and supported.
